RAMA is a modular seating system that integrates sensory elements for use in shared public spaces such as universities and libraries. Designed by Andreea Caraiman at Universitat Jaume I, the project aims to promote emotional well-being through industrial design, offering a solution that combines functionality with psychological comfort.

What makes RAMA unique is the integration of textures specifically designed to stimulate the sense of touch. The system incorporates three different silicone relief patterns that encourage sensory exploration. These textures are intended to help users relieve stress and improve concentration while studying or working in shared environments. The sensory elements can be positioned in various parts of the seat—such as the backrest, armrests, or base—to facilitate continuous interaction.
RAMA’s modular design allows for great versatility in everyday use. Each module offers different seating postures, enhancing the user’s sense of freedom and enabling natural movement. The system supports multiple configurations that encourage interaction not only with the product itself but also with the surrounding environment. Thanks to its modular nature, it can easily adapt to the dimensions and changing needs of any collective space.
