Leap
In an increasingly connected world, children’s access to mobile devices presents significant challenges for parents. Leap was created as an inclusive and accessible solution, designed by Sofía Rebollo Prieto at the University of Deusto (Bilbao), with the aim of protecting children from online risks while fostering responsible learning.
How can we protect children from the negative effects of mobile devices without isolating them from technology? Leap responds to this question by offering a tool that helps parents mediate their children’s digital interactions in an intelligent and progressive way.

At the heart of Leap is Bud, an AI developed by child development experts that personalizes each child’s safety and educational experience.
Leap implements a progressive safety system in which a child’s digital decisions and habits shape their path, unlocking new levels as they demonstrate responsibility.
The device is capable of detecting risks such as cyberbullying or signs of depression, immediately alerting families to provide emotional support.
Bud does not simply enforce rules; it explains decisions to the child in friendly language, fostering understanding and trust rather than mere restriction..
