TrapY

 TrapY

TrapY is an ergonomic harness designed to facilitate the fixation and stabilization of jugular or subclavian access cannulas in patients undergoing Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) treatment. This device aims to transform a highly invasive intervention into a safer and more comfortable experience for patients.

Unlike conventional systems, TrapY has been designed with the needs of patients, healthcare professionals, and caregivers in mind.

The design distributes the weight of the cannulas evenly, preventing localized pressure points. It allows for neck movement, which is critical for patient comfort and well-being during prolonged treatment. Its constant cross-section design and the use of soft, breathable materials help prevent pressure ulcers by minimizing skin irritation. Additionally, the organized routing of the cannulas reduces visual clutter, creating a calmer and more reassuring appearance for both patients and their families.

The primary fixation system anchors the cannulas over the trapezius muscle, ensuring high stability without compromising the cervical and cranial areas. It is compatible with different cannula sizes and configurations, enabling easy adjustment and efficient handling by Intensive Care Unit (ICU) staff. The design adapts to various clinical situations and individual patient needs.
