BIORE

BIORE is a refillable makeup palette created with the mission of addressing the plastic waste crisis in the cosmetics industry. Designed by Lourdes Gúrpide de Mateo, a graduate of Nebrija University, the project demonstrates that aesthetics and sustainability can go hand in hand to promote more conscious consumption.

BIORE’s philosophy is captured in its motto: “Designed to stay. Created to change.” The product is conceived so that the case endures while only the contents are renewed. Made of aluminum, it features a magnetic closure and a magnetized base that allows for easy product replacement. Its modular system accommodates eyeshadows, blushes, and bronzers, enabling users to create combinations tailored to their skin tone, personal style, or the season. The compact and ergonomic design makes it easy to handle and store in everyday use.

BIORE aims to transform the user’s relationship with beauty products by extending the lifespan of the packaging and eliminating the single-use plastics commonly found in traditional refills. The project argues that when the object remains and only the content changes, waste decreases and emotional attachment to the product increases. It places functionality and beauty at the service of a sustainable lifestyle, without sacrificing personalization or the excitement of choosing new colors.
